CASA ESSAY - MIMESIS AS POETIC TOOL AND METAPOETIC COMMENT IN OVID
Abstract
The essay competition is sponsored by the Classical Associationof South Africa. This paper was judged to be the best student essaysubmitted to CASA for 2019.Mimesis is not only a long-established and popular literary tool, but also an ingrained feature of human language. So deep-seated is our desire to reinforce the coding of our language with the characteristics of their denotations that forms of mimesis crop up in our speech and text all the timeAuthors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:
