SOL IUSTITIAE ILLUSTRA NOS: DE "FEMME SAVANTE" ANNA MARIA VAN SCHURMAN (1607-1678) EN DE UNIVERSlTEIT VAN UTRECHTI
Abstract
Onlangs Iiep ik in de stad Utrecht in hartje Nederland rond, toen er weer eens een regenbui naar beneden kwam. M'n oog viel op de blauwe paraplu's die overal de lucht ingestoken werden. De gele zonnetjes bovenop de paraplu's leken de hemel te smeken om alsjeblieft toch die regen te staken. De spreuk die om de zon geschreven stond bevestigde dat: Sol iustitiae illustra nos, Zon der gerechtigheid verlicht ons! Die zon en spreuk zijn al sinds 1636 het embleem van de Universiteit van Utrecht.
